How many wounds of fire, flowers of blood,
Were blossomed on the springtime of your flesh?
What contrary warnings screamed and
Informed you or served notice of warrant to your soul
When death tore through you and expelled democracy
And you were plucked for scent of peril’s petals.
Birthed of earth and fertilized with chemicals--
They never even gave you chance to die of cancer.
